Flood damage repair and reconstruction is the rebuilding phase that comes after water extraction and drying are complete – replacing drywall, flooring, insulation, and other materials that couldn't be salvaged, and restoring the property to its condition before the flood. This is where a flood-damaged property actually gets put back together, not just dried out and left as an empty shell.
You need this when the drying and remediation process has confirmed certain materials had to be removed – drywall cut out due to water damage, flooring that couldn't be saved, insulation that got soaked and had to go. Reconstruction picks up wherever remediation left off, turning a gutted, drying-out space back into a finished, livable one.
We start with a clear scope based on what was removed during the mitigation phase – walls that need new drywall, flooring that needs replacement, trim and fixtures that were taken out. We rebuild systematically, starting with structural and behind-the-wall work like insulation and framing repairs if needed, then moving to drywall, followed by flooring, paint, and trim to bring the space back to a finished state. We match materials to the property's existing finishes where possible, and coordinate the sequence of work so each trade builds on what came before rather than creating rework.
Cost depends heavily on how much needed to be removed during the initial flood response – a property where only a few feet of drywall came out is a much smaller reconstruction job than one where entire rooms were gutted down to the studs. Material choices, flooring type, and finish level in Honolulu, HI properties all affect the final cost, and we'll walk through options at each stage rather than assuming what you want rebuilt.
